5 State Elections are going to be held in November and December 2018. Many people and political parties are raising doubts on EVM machines. Election Commission of India trying to clarify all the doubts about functionality of EVM machines but some people are claiming that it can be hacked in 10-15 minutes. ECI has given open challenge to hack the EVM machines which will be provided by ECI. All these issues were raised since years.
Now VVPAT is being implemented for EVM, with this feature the voter can come to know for party his vote polled. VVPAT machine will display the paper for 7 seconds about the party symbol which voter voted for later it will be dropped into the attached box of VVPAT.
EC should give opportunity for the candidates who are going to ask for recounting based on VVPAT for any specific Polling station or entire constituency. Count in the EVM and VVPAT should remain same. If such recounting incidents happens and if the results remain same than doubts from the minds of people about EVM will go off.
Let’s hope ECI will take necessary actions to protect the interests of Voters.
